We have turned the page unto the new calendar year of 2012 and all
systems are GO for the third annual British Motoring Festival! Once
again, rain or shine, it will be held on the beautiful campus of
Kings-Edgehill school in Windsor, and it will take place on the weekend
of July 20th, 21st and 22nd. The main show date, and the one that
is open to the public, is July 21st.
Come see the fine British cars that will be on display. This year, the
British Motoring Festival is showcasing the MGB, as this car is
celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2012! MG’s have been in existence
since the 1920’s and the MGB made its debut into the British
sports car market in 1962.
They were fun, fast and affordable and rapidly became one of the most
popular sports cars in the world, and still remain the most popular
classic British sports car. We are hoping to get at least 50 MGB’s to join
us for the day!
Returning will be the Nova Scotia Cricket players, the Miniature
Aircraft Society from Truro, Mr. Bean and his girlfriend, and the
Thistle dancers - who were rained out last year- but are hoping on
making it for 2012. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen scheduling
conflicts, the 84th Regiment of Foot will be unable to attend this year, as
previously announced.
Food on the Saturday will be once more provided by the Volunteer
Firefighters of Windsor who have remained as our strong supporters
of the festival. Also returning, and providing an English spin on food,
will be Delish Fine Foods from Tantallon - this establishment, run by
Denis and Linda Dineen, is proud to have been a winner in the recent
The Telegraph’s “Best of Britain” competition in which they were voted to
be the ‘Best British Shop’ outside of the United Kingdom. We are
delighted to feature some of their now famous cuisine!.
Please check our Events Link on this website for everything that will be
occurring on the weekend.
We have also added an Updates Link which will inform you of any news
that occurs closer to the actual date. This way, you can keep abreast of
the changes almost as soon as we know them! Finally, our registration
page is up and running, so why not take a moment to register while
you're here?
Come for the cars. Stay for the fun.
