Programme of Events
Plans are well in hand for BMF 2018, which is scheduled to run from Friday to Sunday, July 13 to 15 on the campus of historic King's Edgehill School (KES) in Windsor,NS.
Friday evening we will kick off the Festival with a Street Party in downtown Windsor (unlike last year, when that event had to be called off after the Town received a grant for a major street improvement project).
On Saturday morning, KES will serve breakfast (complete with hot coffee!) in their Cafeteria. For Saturday daytime, we are inviting food vendors who will offer snacks and lunchtime goodies to participants and spectators.
All day Saturday we'll have the usual slate of events and displays, with the public invited to attend. This year we'll be making a special effort to keep younger spectators entertained while their parents focus on the cars. Emerald Tide has already accepted our invitation to serenade us with their selections of lively Celtic tunes.
BREAKING NEWS! By popular demand THE SKIT is back, produced by 21st Century Bond productions! The always unpredictable Mark and Margaret Bond and fellow cast members will entertain us after lunch on Saturday. Bring a folding chair.
The traditional Valve Cover Races will again see members pitting their model racers against the competition, doing what they can to head off last year's unseemly displays of winner's bombast (just kidding!). If you intend to enter, you should download and carefully read the Official Rules
Saturday evening is reserved for the Annual BATANS Awards Banquet.
Sunday morning we will again congregate at The Spitfire Arms for a British-style breakfast. Following breakfast there will be a road tour of the local area - details to be announced.
To acknowledge their preponderance in BATANS (100 out of 450+ cars), MGBs have been designated as the Featured Car for 2018. For sure, we expect to see a lot of serious competition for the Best of Show in that category. Noted MGB guru John Twist has been invited to join the festival and to share his problem-solving expertise. (see the Updates Page for a full anouncement).
Come for the cars. Stay for the fun!
Once again we will enjoy the beautiful King's-Edgehill School campus in Windsor, Nova Scotia. King's-Edgehill School is the oldest private school in Canada, dating back to 1788. The 65 acres of lawn and shade trees is just 40 minutes from Halifax. Read more
